二端子有源矩阵LCD研究进展

摘　　要：首先介绍了传统的各种类型的二端子有源矩阵液晶显示的工作原理、结构和制作工艺。进而介绍了一种优于传统二端子模式的Lechner二极管有源矩阵液晶显示模式,并介绍了此模式的工作原理、研究现状、研究意义及发展态势。传统二端子模式都存在各自的缺点,不能很好地满足AM-LCD对于二端子器件的要求,用于 AM-LCD都无法很好地达到预期目的。而Lechner二极管有源矩阵液晶显示模式,相对于其他二端子模式,只需使用二极管的正向特性,对阈值电压的要求降低,工艺更简单,图像显示质量更好,并且较易实现大屏幕显示。在目前TFT-LCD处于主导地位的情况下,通过对二端子有源矩阵液晶显示,特别是Lechner二极管二端子有源方式的研究,也许在不远的将来,实现降低AM-LCD生产线成本,简化大屏幕AM-LCD制作工艺将不是梦想。The principle, structure and fabrication technology of the traditional bi-terminal AM-LCDs were introduced. The Lechner diode matrix AM-LCD, which shown much better character than that of the traditional bi-terminal AM-LCD was presented. Because of the shortcomings of the traditional bi-terminal mode, it Can＇t meet the needs of the AM-LCD and can＇t reach the expected parameters. However, comparing with the other bi-terminal modes, Lechner diodes mode uses only the positive characteristics of the diodes, and its requirements of threshold voltage is lower. Comparing with the TFT-LCD, the fabrication technology is much simpler. So it should be easier to realize the big screen display by the Lechner diode matrix mode. in the condition of the predominant position of LCD,it is not a dream to reduce the cost of AM-LCD production line and simplify the fabrication procedure of the big screen display by the bi-terminal AM-LCD, especially the Lechner diode matrix AM-LCD.
