摘　　要：介绍了国家图书馆参考咨询的现行服务方式、检索方式和咨询管理上的一些问题。论述了大环境下,信息咨询公司的快速发展对国家图书馆的咨询服务提出的挑战,介绍了虚拟咨询在国外、国内发生发展的历史和现状,认为国家图书馆参考咨询必须以虚拟咨询为发展方向。Reference service is one part of the reading service of the NLC （The National Library of China）. It views and analyses the present conditions of the reference work in the NLC and the problems need to be solved. The thesis introduces the developments of VRS and its present level in USA and other countries. And the VRS in the college libraries of China is also involved. Finally,it discusses the possibility and the certainty of setting up VRS in the NLC.
