摘　　要：五四史坛中的西方史学,要数美国鲁滨逊新史学派最受人欢迎。《新史学》(英文本)在五四前后学人间流传甚广,尤其大批留学欧美的知识分子先后归国,执教于各地大学,其中不少人出自这一学派门下,纷纷采用鲁滨逊新史学派编著的教材,积极传播该派的学说,对民国时期史学理论和史学史学科建设产生了深刻影响。但是,鲁滨逊新史学派的理论和方法毕竟与本土史学范式差距较大,一时难以找到结合点,其影响力始终停留在观念层面,没有在史学实践中出产可观的成果。The New History by James Harvey Robinson was very popular during the period around the May 4th Movement. Many teachers of history, who came back from abroad, compiled textbooks following its example and taught its viewpoints, thus producing profound influences on the theory and disciplinary construction of historical studies in the period of the Republic of China. However, Robinson＇ s theory and approaches did not help them achieve remarkable results due to its limitation and lack of compatibility with the Chinese historical research.
