摘　　要：网络即时通讯工具在图书馆内部的通讯联系和交流、图书馆与外界联系和交流以及在图书馆参考咨询工作中具有重要作用。网络即时通讯工具在图书馆中的应用是一种趋势。This article summarizes the types and functions of IIM （the intemet instant message）,demonstrates its applications in contacting and communication. It explores especially its application of the digital consult in library. It is a tendency using IIM in library.
