The capacity of microbial migration in the oil reservoir directly affects the growth of microbes in the whole oil layers and the interaction of itself and its catabolites with the oil. The capacity of microbial migration was studied from the oil displacement efficiency by microbial, injected pressure, and the modification of bacterial concentration while screened microbes were injected into the cores with low permeability, the match relationship between the pore throat radius of the cores, which was measured by the constant - speed mercury intrusion technology and the magnitude of bacteria was analyzed. The test results indicate that the enhanced oil recovery was less than 4.22% when displacing the cores with the permeability less than 18. 8 × 10-3 μm2 by the microbial drive. The main reasons are that the pore throat radius did not match with the size of the bacteria, the less the average pore throat radius is,the greater the penetrating resistance, therefore, the capacity of the microbial migration declined. The match between throat radian and size of bacteria is taken as a criterion of screening condition of microbial enhanced oil recovery for low ?permeability oil reservoir instead of permeability.
