摘　　要：中世纪大学自治是在教会和政府夹缝中发展起来的,是特定历史条件的产物。它分为“教师大学”自治和“学生大学”自治两种模式。中世纪大学自治促成了中世纪大学早期的繁荣,但在后期却成为大学本身的桎梏,直接导致了中世纪大学自治的衰亡。这其中既有历史的因素也有中世纪大学自治自身的局限性。The autonomy of medieval universities in the West was developed in the conflicts between the universities and the church or government. ＂ Teachers＇ University＂ and ＂Students＇ University＂ were the two models. The autonomy resulted in both the prosperity and the decline of the medieval universities for historical reasons and the deficiency of the system itself.
