摘　　要：文章从多方面理性地分析了图书馆评估的意义与缺失,指出评估的主要目的不是肯定已经取得的成效,而是查找各自存在的问题和差距,并提出整改措施,以便最大限度满足读者的需求,以此提升图书馆的社会地位和存在的价值,引导图书馆朝着更加健康、更加有为和可持续的方向发展。This paper rationally analyzes the significance and defects of the library assessment from several aspects, points out that the main purpose of assessment is not to affirm the achievements made but to find the problems and disparities and puts forward the rectifiable measures so that the readers＇ demand can be met to a full extent. Then, we can take these as the basis to promote the social position and value of the library to guide the development of the library to more promising and more sustainable direction.
