摘　　要：文章从词汇的角度考察美国英语从殖民时期的语言融合到9.11事件后的发展态势,通过不同时期词汇的变化及一些新词的产生,透视语言发展变化的社会背景及这些词语的文化内涵,以期更好地了解美国英语,提高跨文化交际能力。In view of the meaning change of words and the appearing of new vocabulary from to post ＂Sept. 11＂ incident, the article explores the language development trend of American colonial era English and provides an insight into the cultural connotation and the social backgrounds of language change and developments to better understand American English and improve cross-culture communication abilities.
