摘　　要：李先念是宝钢建设的主要决策人和领导人之一。他对这个工程项目的酝酿准备、厂址勘察、运筹规划、对外谈判、技术引进、上马兴建、建设质量、科学管理等诸多方面极为关注, 曾作过一系列指示,并三次亲临宝钢视察。历史证明,中共中央和国务院关于建设宝钢的决策是正确的,指导是及时而有力的,其中包括李先念付出的精力和心血。Li Xiannian was one of the major decision-makers and leaders in the construction of Baoshan Steelworks. He paid a great deal of attention to this project, including the preliminary deliberations, reconnoiter of the site, planning, negotiations with foreign countries, technological introduction, the starting of construction, quality of the project and scientific management. He made a series of instructions and personally inspected the projects three times. Convinced that this project would meet the urgent needs of China's modernization drive, he insisted on 'advancing bravely' and 'carrying the project through to the end' in spite of objections and difficulties, thus making valuable contributions to the launching and completion of the project. Historical facts have proved that the decision of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council on the construction of Baoshan Steelworks was correct and their guidance, in which Li Xiannian played a vital part, was timely, powerful and effective.
