摘　　要：“临城劫车案“为民国第一大案,北京政府在处理此案的过程中,基于政府的体面,采取剿抚结合的措施,使外侨顺利出险,避免了事态的扩大化。在列强企图共管中国铁路的问题上,立场坚定,有理有节,表明了维护国家主权的决心。在事件的交涉过程中,北京政府从主观上讲,出于巩固统治的需要,也碍于全国人民反对列强干涉中国内政的民族情绪,对临城劫车案性质的判定是符合实际的,拒绝了帝国主义实施治外法权以及其他无理要求,客观上维护了国家和民族的基本利益。The Hijacking Case in Lincheng is the prime case of the Republic of China. In view of the government＇ s reputation, Beijing government taking the measure of both suppression and comfort made aliens disengage themselves and avoided worsening the state of affairs. Facing big powers attempting a condominium of Chinese railway, the government took firm stand, showing the determination of defending state sovereignty. In the negotiation for the case, subjectively speaking, the determination of Beijing government accorded with the reality, solidifying its reign and conforming to national emotion of independence of outside control. They refused imperialism attempting to actualize exteritoriality and some other unjustifiable demands, thus defending nation＇ s basic benefit.
