摘　　要：简要回顾了地下管线管理的进展情况以及3S技术在地下管线管理中的应用。在阐述了元数据概念、编码语言和结构的基础上,对国内外地理信息元数据的研究进展情况进行了初步的分析。结合葫芦岛市地下管线信息系统建设的实践,对地下管线信息系统元数据的特征、内容进行了探讨,并对其元数据进行了设计与实施。The development in the underground pipeline management and the applications of 3S technology in the underground pipeline management are pasted in this paper. On the basis of expatiation of the concept, coding language and structure of metadata, the research advance of geo-information metadata in the world is analyzed preliminarily. In the case of the establishment of the underground pipeline information system, metadata characteristics and contents of the underground pipeline information system are probed, and its metadata is designed and implemented.
