摘　　要：莱斯特学派是当今英国地方史研究的主流学派,该学派对英国地方史学科的建立有着重要作用。它界定了英国地方史学科的基本范畴,形成了固定研究单位,提出了有代表性的莱斯特方法。该学派在半个世纪的时间里不断得到发展,成为英国地方史研究领域的突出代表。The Leicester School has played a major role as an ideas and pioneering practice in the last fifty years of 20th century.It makes great contributions to the study of academic English local history.Above all,the historians of Leicester School have made the definition to the academic discipline of English local history; secondly they have formed relevant study unit for the study of English local history,and then made special paradigm named 'Leicester approach';lastly,the paradigm of the school has made much progress since its appearing.After about fifty years development,the Leicester School has become the symbol of English local history.
