摘　　要：介绍了国际上流行的对数字图书馆信息资源进行元数据编目的主要手段、XML的主要技术特色和技术规范、数字图书馆中XML技术支撑下的三种可能的编目模式以及为实现不同编目模式的数字图书馆的数据交换与资源共享的资源描述框架(RDF),并编写了一个基于RDF和XML的DC描述的实例。The main prevailing methods used to catalogue the metadata in relation to the information resources in digital libraries of the world was introduced. XML＇s chief technical features, norms related to digital libraries and the three possible cataloguing patterns supported by the XML technology in digital libraries were expatiated. RDF associated with the data exchange and resources-sharing in digital libraries to achieve different cataloguing forms were also illustrated. DC actural samples in description based on RDF and XML were compiled herein.
