Objective To evaluate the rationality and utility of the formulas of STI and rCBFLI by transcranial Doppler (TCD) which were deduced by mathematical logic. Methods The indexes of TCD's STI and rCBFLI of 27 intracranial artery stenosis areas in 18 cerebral infarction patients and the semiquantitative data of the decreased regional cerebral blood perfusion imaging in ^99mTc-ECD SPECT at the corresponding areas were analyzed retrospectively. Results In 27 intracranial artery stenosis areas in the 18 cerebral infarction patients, the decreased values of TCD's rCBFLI and the decreased SPECT values by regional cerebral blood perfusion imaging at the corresponding areas presented curve fitting of linear mode, r=0.62, P〈0.001, n=27, while the decreased values of TCD's STI and the decreased SPECT values at regional cerebral blood perfusion presented curve fitting of complex mode, r=0.65, P〈0.001, n=27. Conclusion The formulas of STI and rCBFLI of TCD man be viewed as new indexes to evaluate the degree of intracalvarium arterial stenosis.
