R. China. Improvement in synchronization, to be presented in this summary, plus our previous ho provement of communicationefficiency Li [1] can now raise such efficiency under certain conditions to be about 80 %  ̄95 %.The eight semaphores [2] in each IDT7025 chip (such chips were used in broadcast'memory which is a highly efficient communication tool [1]) can be utilized.Full utilization of semaphores is only one out of many ways to improve synchronization efficiency, but we find that it is the best way as far as we know.In Table 2, the parallel efficiency of EP- 860 developed by us is much higher than that ofGb 1000, a very well known Chinese product. Efficiency of raft 1000 was officially published[4], and that of EP- 860 is determined by us through repeated tests.In order to make our hardware semaphore design user- convenient, we develop threespecial- purpose library functions which we call INIT (i), WA (k) and WO(i) respectively.These functions are made use of many times, usually just before and after 'data exchange' inparallel computation (Fig. 1).
