New Dynamic Composite Addressing Method for Improving Dynamic False Contours on Color Plasma Display Panel

摘  要:开发了一种改善彩色等离子体显示器动态假轮廓的新型动态复合寻址技术.该技术基于寻址与显示分离技术,将对产生动态假轮廓起重要作用的权值较大子场拆分为若干个权值较小的子场,并对拆分的子场使用累积发光的寻址方式,利用输入图像灰度统计与预置的灰度阈值比较,动态地确定拆分子场的使用情况,在不影响图像显示亮度的情况下有效地减小了动态假轮廓现象.同时,利用拆分多个子场、设置多阈值、增加子场数目、使用遗传算法修正编码、联合方式等改进技术,充分发挥子场数目多、子场冗余、拆分子场的特点,进一步减小了动态假轮廓.仿真结果表明,改善动态假轮廓的新型动态复合寻址技术有效地减小了动态假轮廓现象,并最大限度地提高了整幅图像的显示质量.A new dynamic composite addressing technique was developed for improving dynamic false contour on the color plasma display panel. Based on the separation technique of address and display, the subfields with higher weight value playing an important role in producing the dynamic false contour are divided into several subfields with lower weight value. The addressing method of accumulation lighting is adopted for the divided subfields. By comparing the gray statistic of input image with the preset gray level thresholds, the operating situation of the dismantled subfield is dynamically determined so as to reduce efficiently the false contour phenomenon without influencing the picture luminance. Meanwhile, by using divided multi-subfield, setting multi threshold, increasing subfield number, using corrected code of genetic algorithm and combined mode, the characteristics of subfield number, subfield redundancy and dismantled subfields are fully utilized to further reduce the dynamic false contour. The simulation result shows that the dynamic false contour is reduced effectively by using the new dynamic composite addressing meth- od. And the display quality of the whole picture is improved mostly.
