摘　　要：作为已应用于诸多领域的热门信息技术,地理信息系统(GIS)已被引入图书馆的服务与管理之中。研探地理信息技术在图书馆管理中的应用前景与研究现状。提出应用GIS技术为实现文献的可视化管理方案的技术难点,并设计实现该目标的技术路线。Geographic information system （GIS） is a thriving technology that has been applied in many areas, including library services and management. As a new technology, it still seems very new to many library professionals. This paper introduces the applying prospects and current situation of GIS in the library management, and it points out the technical barriers in the plan of documentation visual-managing by GIS, and then presents the technical line for realizing the plan mentioned.
