摘　　要：林则徐在粤任上翻译和运用《滑达尔各国律例》,与义律(时任驻华商务监督)围绕缴烟、惩凶、具结展开了激烈的外交斗争。禁烟斗争取得了一定成效,但最终因义律的阻挠破坏和道光帝对外情的无知而失败。林则徐翻译和运用《滑达尔各国律例》中有关国际法的知识处理国际争端,为清政府在外交中援引国际法开了风气之先。Lin Ze-xu＇s main task when he went to take his post in Guangdong was to ban opium trade and smoking. He translated the Law of Nations and applied its principles to waging a fierce diplomatic war against Yi Lu （ then British Superintendent of Commerce and Trade to China）concerning issues such as confiscating opium, punishing smugglers and recognizance. This diplomatic war,though having effect to some degree,failed in the end because of Yi Lu＇s sabotage and Emperor Dao Guang＇s ignorance of foreign affair. Nevertheless,LinZexu＇s translation and application of the Law of Nations in dealing international disputes blazed the trail for Qing government to invoke international laws in foreign affairs.
