摘 要:opaque assemblages (OAs) vere once thought to be "the oldest objects in the solar system." After careful studies of OAs in primitive meteorites, a group of Chinese and US scientists have recently found that this is not the case. The scientists speculate that they were the products of aqueous alteration of pre-existing metallic particles during asteroid's evolution. One peer reviewer appraised this work to be "the first to give a clear answer to the formation of OAs" and strongly recommended that the journal Earth & Planetary Science Letters publish the research results.
