与NVE组相比,LVE组和HVE组下丘脑的NH I均显著降低,延髓NH I均显著升高,HVE组中脑的NH I显著升高,但LVE组没有显著变化,在两组其他脑区NH I含量均未发现显著变化。 Objective: This study was to observe the effects of variations of dietary vitamin E (VE) on hematological iron status and non-heine iron content in rat. Methods: Female Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly assigned to three groups according to levels of dietary vitamin E, including low VE diet ( LVE), normal VE diet ( NVE), and high VE diet (HVE). The hematological indices of iron status and the nonheme iron of brain were determined at the end of the three months. Results: As compared with the NVE, LVE had its significantly higher hemoglobin (Hb) concentration and total iron binding capacity ( TIBC ) without significant changes in plasma iron concentration (PI) ;HVE had a significantly lower TIBC with a significant increase in PI and transferrin iron saturation. On the other hand, as compared with the NVE, both LVE and HVE had their significantly lower NHI in the hypothalamus and their significantly higher NHI in the medulla oblongata, and no significant changes were found in the other brain regions. Conclusion: Variations of dietary vitamin E may influence the hematological iron status and brain iron metabolism.
