摘　　要：对猛火油的用途、原产地进行了说明和考证,从吴越、南唐与中原、契丹的关系等方面对“吴王”向契丹主进献猛火油一事进行了梳理,证明贞明五年(公元919年)向契丹进贡猛火油的吴王并非南唐中主李,而是吴越王钱镠,《辽史》记载当误。This article analyzed the usage of petroleum and its source areas by citing ancient documents. And it also arranged the event that King Wu presented to King Khitan through the relationship among kingdom Wu, Khitan, the North of China and State Nantang, and testify the King who presented petroleum to the King Khitan wasn＇t Li Bian, but Qian Liu. So what was written in The History Record of Liao Dynasty is wrong.
