从“水”的隐喻看中西文化的差异

摘　　要：从“水”的隐喻的角度入手,通过“水”的隐喻的相关语料,按照其文化内涵从地理因素、世界观、人际关系和时间观四个方面进行归类、分析,对中西方文化差异进行对比性研究,可知语言和文化密不可分;“水”含颇多文化成分;“水”的隐喻可以映射出中西方文化间存在的明显差异;人们认知世界的思维方式是隐喻性的;隐喻帮助人们形成了各自独特的传统文化哲学。Through an analysis of the metaphor in ＂water＂ and the cultural connotations of related data, the paper gives a comparative study of its differences between Chinese culture and West culture by concentrating on the geographical factors, the world outlook, the interpersonal relation and the concept of time. It concludes that language and culture are closely related and ＂water＂ carries with itself rich cultural elements which reveal the clear differences between Chinese culture and West culture. The way of thinking for understanding the world is metaphoric, and metaphor helps different groups have different kinds of cultural philosophy.
