Over a long period of time, Christianity has been dominating the toreign trade in Japan, thus making enormous profits. Meanwhile, these profits have been adopted to support and guarantee their missionary activities in Japan. A large number of Christians, therefore, emerged. The govermnent at that time realized the great harm to its reign brought about by Christianity, which carried out the preachment and controlled the foreign trade at the same time. As a result, they enacted a locking policy to ban Christianity in the name of "black magic", "the bud of disaster" or "the hidden trouble in the future" in order to evade the invasion of the foreign thoughts.
