摘 要:喧闹的慈善风潮,掩盖不住中国慈善还处在粗放、原始阶段的真相.Philanthropy and social responsibility have become the most fashionable buzzword among Chinese business community in 2006. Pop stars, senior officers and entrepreneurs are appearing on various philanthropic events, as different organizations map out their own philanthropy rankings. However, some other statistics reveal Chinese philanthropy is still in its infancy. Till end 2004, the total philanthropic donation in China accounted just 0.05 percent of that year's GDP, far lower than the levels of 2.17 percent in USA, 0.88 percent in UK and 0.77 percent in Canada. The donation of the richest people, who own 80 percent of the social wealth, takes less than 20 percent of the country's total and 99 percent of Chinese enterprises have never participated in a philanthropic donation. Our investiga tion shows China still lacks professional trustees which can help enable a full-fledged philanthropy in the society. The richest people hesitate to donate for fears of the following-up disturbs. Some enterprises are using donations as a means of gov-ernment relationship management and most wealthy people in China prefer to pass their assets to their next generation, rather than to philanthropy.
