摘　　要：土地利用变化是区域变化的重要组成部分,是短时期内人类活动对自然环境改造的显著表现形式。随着人口持续增长和社会经济的快速发展,南县土地利用发生了较大变化。以土地统计资料为依据,对南县1983-2003年的土地利用变化过程进行了全面分析。结果表明:土地利用结构发生了明显变化;土地利用变化速度较快;土地利用程度较高,土地利用处于调整期;人类活动对景观格局有较为明显的影响。Change in land use is a major part of regional change and an obvious manifestation of human activities transforming natural environment in a short period. Taking Nanxian County, Hunan Province, as an example, this paper analyzes the temporal and spatial characteristics of land use change according to the data from 1983 to 2003, arriving at the following conclusions： （1）the cultivated land and water areas account for more than 85 percent of the total land area of Nanxian County, and the rate of land use and cultivation was high; （2）evident change has taken place in the land use structure; （3）in the 20-year period, land use change was very fast, the land use intensity was relatively high, and the human activity has an obvious influence on landscape pattern.
