摘　　要：Since the 1970s, with the rapid rise of modernization in Japan and the ＂Four Small Asian Dragons,＂ and especially following the great and universally acknowledged achievements of China＇s in-depth reform and opening-up policy since the 1980s, the relationship between Confucianism and East Asian modernization has become a topic commanding widely divergent opinions.
