摘　　要：霍尔顿体现了一个成长中的少年的种种问题:厌恶成人世界,不愿长大,急切地在寻找一个“父亲”来指导未来的生活。虽然寻找精神上的父亲是徒劳的,霍尔顿自己却在不知不觉中充当了父亲的角色,具有敏锐的观察力,不断地试图去关怀他人,保护他人。儿子和父亲两种截然不同甚至有些矛盾的角色同时存在于霍尔顿身上,使其形象复杂,充满争议,同时也正是其魅力所在。As a teenager, Holden Caulfield complains about the phoniness of adult world and searches desperately for a spiritual father who can help him cross the road, that is, grow up without losing his innocence. Yet at the same time, as he himself dreams, Holden Caulfield is a catcher, or a father figure who offers facilitating and guiding help. As a son figure and father figure combined, Holden is an entity of contradiction. The success and controversy of Holden in part consist in his very contradiction and inexplicability.
