摘　　要：我国蝴蝶中,翅面斑纹是暖色调的种类不多,红色的种类更少,红锯蛱蝶就是其中之一。它的成虫喜爱飞翔而色彩艳丽,是一种非常重要的观赏蝴蝶。在重庆地区,红锯蛱蝶分布在海拔400～1 000 m的生境里,其中,分布在500～600 m占多数;从1998年2004年调查数据表明主要集中在山坡灌丛,阔叶林、针叶林也有分布;重庆武隆、巫山、石柱等地均采集到。三峡库区红锯蛱蝶取食杯叶西蕃莲Passiflora cupiformis Mast．,卵聚集产于寄主植物的叶面,一个卵块可达几十粒以上。饲养幼虫龄期6或5龄;初龄幼虫有群集性,数量较多。悬蛹,悬挂在植物的枝、叶上。卵期7 d左右,蛹期10～20d;In a survey carried out from 1998 to 2004 in Chongqing, the biology of the butterfly species Cethosia bibles （Drury） was studied. It is distributed in a habitat with an elevation of 400 - 1 000 m, mainly between 500 and 600 m. Its main habitat is bushes on mountain slopes, though they are also found in broadleaf and conifer forests. The eggs are laid in batches on the leaf of Passiflora cupiformis Mast with about 30 eggs in an egg-piece. The larvae feed on the leaves of P. cupiformis. It was found in a rearing experiment that its larval stage covers 5 or6 instars and its egg and pupal periods lasts about 7 and 10 - 12 days, respectively. Its development from egg to adult takes about 1 month.
