摘　　要：为了使现有的局域网(包括以太网IEEE802.3和令牌环网IEEE802.5)的应用能够在ATM上继续使用,通过局域网仿真可实现局域网和ATM之间的互操作。本文就局域网仿真的体系结构、组成、连接、技术实现等方面进行了探讨。In order that the existing technique of the local networks （ including IEEE802.3 and IEEE802.5） can be continuously used on ATM, the local network emulation is introduced to enable the interactive manipulation between LAN and ATM. This paper presents a complete discussion on the following aspects of the local network emulation such as system architecture, composing, the access to networks, implementation techniques, etc.
