摘　　要：After satellite deployment, the second stage of a LM-2C launch vehicle performing a SSO mission has an orbital life of over 50 years. It is therefore necessary to vent the residual propellants in the 2nd stage to avoid debris-generating in-orbit explosion. Based on the characteristics of LM-2C, several concepts have been proposed. After detailed evaluation of these concepts, the method to drain the residual propellants through the main valves of the main engine has been selected.
