摘　　要：针对来稿中英文参考文献刊名常为全称及国内科技期刊英文参考文献刊名错误率高的现状,对2003年美国科学信息研究所《科技期刊引证报告》(JCR)收录的5 907种英文刊名进行分析,统计出刊名中常用单词的缩写,并结合GB/T7714—1987《文后参考文献著录规则》附录的相关内容,简论单词缩写的一些规则,以供科技期刊编辑在编写英文刊名时参考。In view of the problem that English journal titles in references of domestic journals are not recorded in accordance with Chinese national standards, the authors analyzed 5 907 journals＇ titles in Journals Citation Report of American Institute of Science Information. They also investigated the word abbreviations with high frequency, and summarized the abbreviation rules of words. This paper may set a base for editing English journal titles in references.
