摘　　要：本文分析了英语（尤其是美国英语）中administration与government的文化语义差异，认为administration的词义核心是“行政分芰”，将administration翻译为汉语的“政府”不够妥当，该词的恰当汉译为“行府”，而government的汉译是“政府”This thesis analyzes the cultural ,semantic differences of ＂administration＂ and ＂government＂ in English（especially American English）, and holds that the ,semantic core of ＂administration＂ is ＂a body of officials of the executive branch of agovemment＂. Therefore it is not appropriate to translate ＂admir,：istration＂ into ＂RE＂. The appropriate Chinese translation of ＂administration＂ is ＂行府 ＂, and the appropriate Chinese translation of ＂government＂ is ＂政府＂.
