摘　　要：明治维新时期日本人的西洋意识,奠定了近代日本对西方态度的思想基础。其类型大致可分成追赶意识、霸业意识、文明意识与东西意识。诸类意识间的相互作用规定了近代日本在追求其国家目标时的政策及行为性质。Western consciousness in Japan during Meiji Reform romped an ideological base for modern Japanese attitude toward the West, and its types are approximately divided into chasing consciousness, hegemony consciousness, civilization consciousness and East - West consciousness. The reciprocity of all consciousness regulated the character of modern Japanese policy and its conduct in pursuit of its state targets.
