江汉平原北缘的下更新统

摘　　要：江汉平原北缘的第Ⅲ、Ⅳ级阶地的砂砾层,时代属下更新统,其与下伏的新第三系在岩性特征、生物化石组合以及所构成的地貌形态等方面有着明显的差异。第四系下界处于松山负极性世与高斯正极性世之间,年代约为248万年B.P.Jianghan plain is located in the middle of Hubei, its northern edge consists of Jingmen, Zhongxiang and Jingshan. The bed of gravel and sand which con-stitutes the 3th and 4th terraces of the Hanjiang River, belongs to the Early Pleis-tocene epoch. According to the lithological characteristics, palaeontologic facies and morphological feature, the Lower Pleistocene series is different from the Neogene system-Luohansi Formation (Miocene series) , Duodaoshi Formation (Pliocene series). It is confirmed that the Plio-PIeistocene or Q/N boundary lies between Matsuyama reversed epoch and Gauss epoch. The age of the strata is around 2 480 000 years B.P.
