Though ecologism takes an attitude of reflections and criticism towards humanism, it doe not mean that they two are diametrically opposed to each other. The criticisms that eeologism levels at humanism are not on the totality of humanism, but instead, only on the human-centered concept of it. The humanism's appeal for liberty, equality and fraternity having given enlightenment to ecologists, has already enabled these ideas of value to extend to greater scope. In this course, humanism has not passively received ecologism's criticisms and options. On the contrary, it has supplied initial ideas for ecologism and corrected its tendency of totality as well. Seen from the above, it is safe to say that they two are mutually supplementary and that their respect in common for individual life will push them to arrive at a conciliation at last.
