摘　　要：马洛去寻求“黑暗的心脏”,而库尔茨正处在“黑暗的心脏”,他们都有着一颗孤独的心灵,他们的孤独透露出康拉德的孤独。From the time it was published, Heart of Darkness has been discussed much, but few have investigated this novel from the point of isolation motif which is Conrad＇s favorite. Marlow and Kurtz both demonstrate their loneliness. Marlow is isolated on his way looking for Kurtz. Though he finds Kurtz, he can＇t shake off his loneliness. Instead, he becomes lonelier. Kurtz is afraid of loneliness and endeavors to cast off his isolation by identifying himself with lots of ivories, but he is doomed lonely since he has given up his moral principles. From the isolation of Marlow and Kurtz, Conrad demonstrates his own loneliness.
