摘　　要：在简要回顾已有论著的基础上,对江南水乡旅游发展与建筑遗产保护、更新的关系进行探讨。指出江南水乡旅游发展的基础在于保护以民居建筑为主体的水乡环境。这要求首先做好两项基础工作,一是保护江南水乡建筑文化的物质基础——土地、水网,二是孕育文化自觉,使可持续发展、生态的观念真正深入人心,从而继承并塑造新时期江南水乡建筑文化。This paper retospects works about researching protecting and renovating architectural heritages of jiangnan watertown .It points out we must do two basic works：one is protecting soil and water that are the basic substance .the other is cultural self-knowledge,and we must meditate our world view and value.Continuable development and conceptional Zoology go deep into our mind in deed.Consequently,then we may can inherit and renovate architectural culture of Water Rural Area in South Chang-jiang River of China in new time.
