摘　　要：As the dominant cultural development of the second half of the 20^th century, postmodemism penetrates into almost all the fields of contemporary cultures and indicates a kind of special thinking mode which is totally different from the former traditional conceptions. John Barth, the major American literary practitioner and advocate of postmodernism, has written many works which are typical of postmodem style, among which Life-Story is a famous one. in this story, Barth exhibits us his innovations and typical traits ofpostmodemism.
