摘　　要：This paper focuses on the discussion of modem American literature interlinked with the Freudian theory. It presupposes that Freudian theory plays a vital part in ＂stream-of-consciousness＂ novels, and affects many authors＇ works. The author further expounds his viewpoint by analyzing O＇Neill＇s works, Hemingway＇s works as well as his personal experience from the perspective of Freudian theory.
