摘　　要：If a reader wants to understand Gulliver＇s Travels＂ thoroughly and deeply, it is very necessary for him to know the writing techniques. Because of the special historical background, Swift had to employ many kinds of satire to criticize the contemporary English society indirectly. And the essay expounds the different kinds of satire used in this novel.
