摘  要:This article examines the widespread misuse of English in China (called "Chinglish"), analyzes some of the main reasons why so many mistranslations occur, provides blatant examples of bad translation in the tourism industry, reviews some of the consequences of bad translation, and recommends actions to permanently correct the situation. [Note: Spelling and grammatical errors in quoted words and passages in this article are deliberate; they are as found in the original Chinglish examples.]
