摘 要:This paper attempts to analyze dreams and film sequences which Lessing deliberately used in The Golden Notebook. Dreams are Lessing's method to explore the protagonist Anna's inner life; therefore dreams in the novel serve as an "epiphany", helping Anna to see through herself and her dilemma. Film sequences function as a thread to connect the disjointed events; thus Lessing achieves her purpose of high unity of the form and the content.
