摘　　要：《豆食者》是鲜为国人所知的美国当代颇有声望的黑人女诗人格温多琳.布鲁克斯的诗作之一。她先后共出版了二十多部诗集。1950年,她获得了普利策奖,成为第一个获此殊荣的黑人作家。她被公认为美国黑人诗人中的顶尖人物。她用自己的笔描述黑人窘迫的生活处境,鞭挞不平等的种族歧视,成为倡导人权运动的积极活动家。总统克林顿给予她高度的评价。This paper, is an attempt to present an introduction to a remarkable American poet Gwendolyn Brooks,the author of more than twenty books of poetry and the first black American to win a Pulitzer Prize in 1950, who is hardly known to Chinese readers. She was universally regarded as a top black poet and a witty poet who satirizes blacks and whites and attacks racial discrimination. She uses black language and rituals to proclaim black solidarity. President Clinton spoke highly of her.
