摘　　要：叙述了GPS全球定位系统,从GPS的系统结构、工作原理、定位方法、功能及特点等方面进行了较详细的论述;介绍了美国的GPS政策及该领域的激烈竞争,尤其是通过美国GPS现代化计划揭示了美国在GPS发展上的真实目的;同时也客观地总结了GPS仍是当今世界上技术先进、应用广泛的全球定位系统,并在现代社会生活中发挥着重要作用。This paper presented GPS systematically and discussed the system structure, work principle, positioning method, function and speciality of GPS in detail. It introduced the GPS policy of USA and the violent competitions a in this field, especially revealed the real purpose of USA on the development of GPS by the plan of GPS modernization. At the same time, summarized objectively the conclusion that GPS is a global positioning system with more advanced on technology and more extensive for use in worldwide and it play important role of at present.
