摘　　要：国外中文古籍数字化是在信息技术快速发展的背景下产生的。公共图书馆是中文古籍数字化开发的主体，科研院所、协会和个人也有参与。中文古籍数字化可以有效解决古籍保护和利用的矛盾，有利于中华民族历史文化的传播。Digitization of the overseas Chinese ancient books is a result under the information technology background. Besides universities, research institutes, associations and individuals, the public libraries are the main body of participation in the Chinese ancient books digitization field. The Chinese ancient books digitization may effectively solve contradiction between protection and the using of the ancient books and it is advantage to the dissemination of the Chinese history and culture.
