摘　　要：地方文献是组成国家文献系统的两大子系统之一。它所具备的五大特点——地域性；重复使用性；相对客观性；广泛性和连续性使其既具有重要的情报价值又具有珍贵的史料价值，在地方事业的建设和发展中起着十分重要的作用。地方大学图书馆和地方公共图书馆一样要强化地方文献资源建设工作，重视地方文献的搜集和整理，并尽可能使其得到充分的开发和利用。Local documents constitute one of the two subsy stems of the national document system. They have the five characteristics: regionalness, repetitive use, relative objectivity, wide range and continuity, which makes them bear important informational value and precious historical data value. As local documents have been playing a very important role in the construction and development of the local cause, local university libraries, like local public libraries, should strengthen their local document resources construction, attach importance to the collection and classification of local documents and do everything possible to make them fully exploited and utilized so that they can render active service to every construction undertaking of the local area.
