摘　　要：地理信息系统作为一种先进的管理工具和管理手段,必将提高小城镇的综合管理水平和管理效率;作为一种先进的信息技术,必将推进我国小城镇的信息化和城镇化进程,如:加速小城镇的商业贸易发展,发展和调整产业结构,合理调配资源等,从而促进小城镇发展.The article maintains that the geographic information system （G1S） will raise the syntactic management level and the management efficiencies of the small town as a forerunner management method and tool. In the small town of China, the GIS will push forward informatization and urbanization and it will develop the small town commerce and trade, industrial structure. It will reasonable dispense resources, and oromote the development of the small town economy.
