摘　　要：加利福尼亚州位于美国西部,受自然和社会因素影响,园林植物种类丰富,以常绿植物种类为主,亦有不少落叶种类。园林绿地类型多样,包括公共绿地、道路绿化带、建筑物周围绿地以及众多壮丽的植物公园和典雅的私家花园。加州全民绿化和环保意识较高,值得国人借鉴。California locates in western mountainous region of the USA, consisting of lengthy coastal areas along the Pacific Ocean. It is classified as Mediterranean climate with extremely dry summers and relatively rainy winters. Snowing is rare during winters along the coastal region. Due to its natural advantages and social developments, California has wide variety of garden plants, dominated by evergreens. However, deciduous plants are common in many regions. Garden plants can be seen in numerous types of civil developments such as municipal areas, roadside greenbehs and surrounding areas of buildings. In addition, garden plants can be found in famous national parks and private gardens in the state. California residents generally have strong conscious about vegetation development and protection which should be considered a role model for the other countries.
