摘　　要：公路网改善是西部交通发展的主要内容,其对西部地区社会环境产生了重要的推动作用。通过对西部地区公路网里程、密度和结构的分析和对比研究,结合西部十二省市1999年和2004年各级公路情况,并与全国同期平均水平相比较,分析西部公路网改善的情况。The highway network is the main content in great contribution to the social environment in the west. the development of western transportation.
