摘　　要：本文根据现代文献的特点,论述了其对藏书建设、情报职能、以及医学数据库的建设所产生的巨大影响,并提出了建立医学图书馆法规,赋予网络组织协调藏书的实权;修改藏书利用率的计算方法,以突出近期文献开发利用的重要性;以及加强医学数据库建设的指导,避免重建与缺建造成的损失.Effects of the characteristics of modern documents on collection development, information functions, and development of medical databases were discussed. Following suggestions were put forward: enacting laws and regulations of medical library and giving library the right to coordinate collection development in its network; modifying the computing methods of collecttion utilization ratio so as to lay stress on the utilization of recent literature; strengthening directions for the development of medical databases so as to avoid duplications.
